comics exaggerating and over sensitizing the “social justice warriors” on this website are inaccurate and unrealistic and the orca agrees
Shall I continue…?
I am so done with a lot of humanity
Watercolored nature backgrounds from the Studio Ghibli film The Tale of Princess Kaguya (かぐや姫の物語), illustrated by Kazuo Oga (男鹿和雄). A good portion of the Princess Kaguya Roman Album EXTRA (Amazon US | JP) is dedicated to the background art and the many artists involved.
If Hieronymus Bosch took the blue pill instead and sat down to a mad hatters tea party with Marie Antoinette, a hookah-smoking Caterpillar & a couple of unicorns you may just open the curtain into Daniel Merriam’s theatre fantastic. A Master American Surrealist painter, his worlds speak to those of us who adored the movie The Labyrinth and found ourselves asking, Why the hell wouldn’t she stay with the Goblin King? It’s firmly the territory of a child’s bubblegum mind.
i’ve needed this in my life since forever
WARNING ON TUMBLR USER IAMACOYFISH’S CHARMS
Specifically their Tales Of and Yowamushi Pedal charms.
These are basically copies of official merchandise (Tales of Friends rubber strap collections released in 2012)
She states that she originally made these “based” on the Tales of Friends rubber straps (but they are literally almost exact copies with tweaking to them lmaooo)((the ywpd ones are basically copies of the tales of ones not actual yowamushi pedal merch))
(right is iamacoyfish’s versions, left is the official merch)
When asked about this she gave this answer:
And tried to use the “fanart=copyright infringement” argument to justify herself + tried to say she doesn’t make profit off of the charms (when that is a load of bs there is no way you can order even the minimum amount of acrylic charms, charge it at like 10 bucks a piece, sell it online AND at cons, and NOT make money off of them which is btw the price of one official imported rubber strap LMAO AND ITS ONLY ABOUT HALF THAT PRICE WHEN BOUGHT IN JAPAN)
When confronted AGAIN by my friend with this (in a much more serious tone):
and ofc she replies in a very condescending tone ^_^
There is a fine line between being inspired to make merchandise based on official merch and literally just copying the official merch and selling it as your own ^_^. If an artist has to go so low to sell merch that’s not even in their own style, copied from official merch, and even charged for the same price as the original, they shouldn’t be left to make money off of a complete rip off lmao. You can literally buy the official rubber straps for 10 bucks a piece and if you’re lucky 30$ for 10 of them in a set online anywhere or at a convention, and about 5$ if you’re in Japan. You’re paying the same price for either of them so why not just get the official?
I wasn’t going to post about this until she started becoming very sarcastic in her replies lmao.
Please signal boost this! Please try not to buy her versions they are basically knock offs.
